OKAY SO I AM JUST GOING TO MAKE THIS OFFICIAL NOW even though it probably doesn't need to be said. This journal is an official non-entity. I would delete it, except for how then I couldn't comment on fic. My general chatter goes on my dreamwidth and @dextrocardiac on Twitter. My fanwork is on my AO3 account. Actually my not!fic and things I refuse to actually write will be on dreamwidth, too. If you're into that. THAT IS ALL basically. Enjoy the rest of your day.

So I wrote a couple more Sherlock BBC fics. They are over on AO3 if you would like to see them. They and weird and plotless which I know will shock anyone whose read my fic before.

After two years, I pretty much figured I'd never write fanfic, again. And then came BBC Sherlock and my devolving back into a ravenous fanboy. So, yeah, I have fic for you. Character exploration fic. It is atrociously pretentious. Numbered sections, second person POV, basically if I hadn't written it I wouldn't read it. I just ask that you give it a chance because I could really use the feedback. I am hideously nervous. Also I'm not British, and I don't know any real life British people, so I'm sorry if something obviously American has slipped in here.

I don't even know guys, it just happened.Collapse )

Just to make the thing official, I now exist on dreamwidth, where I'll be posting all of my original fiction, poetry, prose-poetry, etc. Ta da: cridecoeur. If you'd like to see any of it, you'll have to drop me a line because the vast majority's going to be access list only. I know there's a way to grant access to livejournal accounts, so you wouldn't have to have a dreamwidth account (although if you'd like one, I'm going to have invite codes at some point), I'll just have to figure out how to do it.

So I found these Due South text-only icons on my computer that I made two years ago. Yes, two years. This is how timely of a person I am. I think they're funny, at least (then again, my sense of humor is notoriously bad). If anyone's at all interested, well, here they are.

1. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket 2. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket 3. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This way to my dreamwidth...

Oh my god, guys I actually wrote fic. Merlin fic. And it's a good three times longer than anything I wrote in the HP fandom. (Which is actually kind of sad.) I owe it to losing a lot of incomprehensibility and gaining something like an actual plot. Though not any less of my obsessing over language. Whee.

Title: Children Die of the Imagination
Rating: PG
Word Count: 3587
Warnings/Spoilers: Well, Uther's dead. Sorry about that. And let's say spoilers for the first season because I can't keep the episodes straight in my head.
Summary: An enchanted forest, a cursed sleeper, a young king, and a quest. AKA: An Arthur-seeks-Merlin fic.
Disclaimer: Not mine, not for profit.
A/N: The title's taken from A Humument; there are, in fact, no children dying in this fic. I should hope that's a relief. I think I've obsessed enough about this little fic; it's time to just let it go. Go, so that I may start working on putting Merlin in a dress! (Oh, that got your attention, now didn't it?) Unbeta'd, so any and all mistakes are my own, though last_radio did look this over and sooth some of my insecurities.

The wind shifts. The landscape rearranges.

What a neat idea for a meme. And I've got nothing but time, so this'll give me something to work on.

from rudhampaiel

made-by-me meme:

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

- What I create will be just for you.
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- You will receive your item before the end of the year (or sooner).
- You will have no clue what the item is going to be. It could be a story or poetry. It could be a piece of handmade jewelry or an art doll. I may draw, paint, collage or knit something. I might bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to repost this meme and make and send out five surprises of your own.

Happy Birthday Charlotte!Collapse )

In other news, microwavable oatmeal is really nasty (brain-eating zombie nasty), and I think I may be getting the bad strep throat again, the sort that makes your whole mouth swell up, which wouldn't be the best way to start out the break but would continue my trend of doing...just that. Strep has to be my least favorite way of being sick, too. I shall have to smite whoever gave it to me.

When MUD humor and dirty humor collide: the you-see message tagged to a random girl in this game reads, "A harlot appears to lack strength. You see nothing in it." Maybe that's not as funny if you don't play MUDs, but heh. Heh heh.

(Music post one back, for those who might have missed it.)

Ignored LJ for a month. Er. Am a heathen. ...Have some music to make up for it?

:: Neon Bible (zipped album, la) - Arcade Fire. A new release, even. What larks. I'd upload Funeral, too, if my computer hadn't eaten my iTunes library (hard-drive crashing bastard that it is).
:: Hangin' on the Line, The Places You'll Call Home, Oceans in the Hall, In December, Song for the Ending Day - The Ladybug Transistor. Oh, c'mon, how can you not download music from a band with that name? Not new stuff, but I like them and don't think many people have heard of them. Good fun.
:: Sly - The Cat Empire. Yes, the one last_radio mentioned, recently. This may have just been released to the US. I don't know. I'm out of the loop like that.
:: Chemical Sunset - White Willow. Norwegian art rock, according to my good friend, Wikipedia. I heard this song, bought the album on a whim, and was disappointed, overall. I do really like this one, though, if not so much the rest of it. If anyone does want the whole album (Storm Season), I'll be happy to upload it. :D

According to people more knowledgeable than myself (read: music snobs), I should have bought Sacrament and not Storm Season as it's meant to be some sort of masterpiece. When I listened to clips from it, though...well, it sounded like some bizarre combination of very sad royal minstrels and those cheesy songs that electronic keyboards are preprogrammed to play. It could just be that I'm a philistine, but really. Sad royal minstrels? It was a turn off. (I got a new tag out of it, though, which pleases me more than it ought to. Hee hee.)

As soon as I get back home this weekend, I'll have a $15 iTunes card to burn. Any suggestions on what I should buy? I am young and impressionable, mold me, etc. (I also did not previously know that Siren was a genre. Kate Bush, you have expanded my world view.) Ahah. Not a genre; just me being silly.

Am not getting notifications for comments that off of my journal page. So none for other people's journals. Er. Can anyone tell me what I've bollocksed up this time? My ability to do so is infinite and ever-changing. I can't keep up with it. :/

Also: OMG, Black Donnelleys. Spoiler-ish.Collapse )

Also also: A wee bit of RL whining.Collapse ) (trailingoff, I hope you're doing alright?)

H'lo. You've found the journal of commendaces (who was formerly deathofletters). It's still under a bit of construction but should be up and running soon.
